When recoloring with MS Paint, there are two methods.
Eraser Method:
Select the dropper tool. Left-click the color you want to replace. Select the dropper tool again. Right-click the color you want to replace the old color with. Select the Eraser tool and the largest square. Whilst holding down the right mouse button, go over the color you want to replace. Viola.
Left-Out Method:
Use the dropper to select the colors in the opposite way of the Eraser Method. Select the Dashed Rectangle Tool. Press "Ctrl-A" Press "Ctrl-Z" You should have a one-color picture. Select the bucket filler tool. Click on the picture. Choose the dotted square again. Press "Ctrl-V" Go to the tool options and select the "Clear Background" option. Viola.

How to make Trainer Cards:
Go to an image search engine and search for a blank trainer card you like. Next, find the badges you want. Find a Trainer Sprite you like, too. Lastly, choose six pokemon for your trainer card. If they are Hoenn, Johto, or Kanto pokemon, then it would be easiest to find their Ruby-Sapphire Pinball sprite. Copy-and-paste the pictures you downloaded onto the trainer card using the "erase background color when pasting" option. If desired, put your Trainer Name and Trainer ID# on the card as well. Upload and put BBCode in Signature or Wherever.
