I have a better explanation for the accent in Pokémon.
The Japanese name is "Po ke {{{an odd character, untransliterateable by itself, thr "following consonant doubler" called sokuon, henceforth denoted by ψ}}} to mo n su ta a" (separated by different katakana), or Pokettomonstaa. It was cut off at "Po ke ψ" & "Mon" in english. As ψ cannot be transliterated, it became an accent ΄. Hence, "Pokémon".
And they all lived happily ever after.

Question: Say if I just make a..uh...fused sprite. Just an ordinary sprite coloured and fused from other pokemon to make an entirely new sprite..where would I post that on the forums? Cheers
